For the fifth time the Imperial Karlovy Vary company introduces the works of Czech designers that should help modernize Czech spa industry and keep it in the world's top, where it has traditionally belonged. When we organized the Imperial Design Symposium in 2007 for the first time, we did not know what results it would bring; however, the very first year was a great success that surpassed even the most daring expectations. The Kala spa cup, its design and functional innovation attracted experts, the general public and most of all the spa guests. Over the years since its creation the cup has found its place in significant collections as well as at prestigious design exhibitions. In 2010 it represented the Czech Republic at the regular convention of the Presidents of the Visegrad Group in Karlovy Vary and it became the official gift of our country to the foreign statesmen.
Of course other projects emerged from the Imperial Design Symposium have gained their place in our lives. The most important one of them is the united graphic design of Hotel Imperial and the Sanssouci Spa Resort spa hotels, which was created in the year of 2008. Since then it has been guiding our guests on advertising and information prints almost everywhere they go and it has also been perceived by our business friends. The Kala cup thermal cover was created in the same year and earlier this year we started offering it to our guests as a practical accessory to its Pura version. Our business friends have also enjoyed the corporate gift of the Balneo porcelain tea set. The porcelain vase and refreshment bowl serving our guests in Club Imperial was created one year later. In 2010 another corporate gift came into the world – a porcelain fruit bowl in the shape of a relief map of Karlovy Vary, which won recognition among experts shortly after its creation.
A thank you for these successes goes to the designers who have been participating in the Imperial Design Symposium as well as to the organizations that have been assisting with its realization. We have been provided with substantial expert assistance mostly by the civic associations CZECHDESIGN.CZ and Design Aliance and technological assistance by Ateliér Futuree based in Karlovy Vary.
